There are three kinds of tax workers:
IRD officers, tax
representatives and tax consultants.
IRD officers
There are two kinds of
IRD officers: professional-grade officers and
non-professional-grade officers.
The professional officers include management officers: Commissioner,
Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, Chief Assessor and Senior Assessor
whose chief duties are planning, controlling, and implementing of the
taxation policies. The professional officers also include assessing officers: assessors and
assistant assessors whose chief duties are assessing and collecting tax.
The non-professional officers include departmental-grade officers and
general-grade officers. Departmental grade officers include taxation officers
and tax inspectors. These people assists the professional officers to do the
taxation work: taxation officers mainly work in-door whereas tax inspector
mainly work out-door. General-grade officers include administration staff,
accounting people, computer workers, secretaries, typists... etc.
Tax representatives
These people represents the taxpayers to deal with the Revenue. They
mainly work in CPA firms.
Tax
consultants
These people provide tax advice to taxpayers. Most of them work
with CPA firms. |
