Dear friend:
Now, having surfed on this website and
read my book Hong Kong Tax Tips, you should
know something about how to reduce tax legally. I must put emphasis on the
word “legally”. Tax reduction is good but it must always be done in a legal
way. Remember: tax evasion by illegal means is a crime and it can ruin your
career totally.
In fact, tax reduction by lawful means is possible and achievable. That's
why I wrote this book. But I strongly advise you not to overly aggressively
remove your tax. Such acts can render you to tax investigation and torment
over years. They can also make you cross the boundary of legality
unknowingly.
Tax reduction may not be your best talent that gives you the greatest
reward. The fact that you can pay a lot of tax means that you are a capable
person in your career. To maximize your reward and your work satisfaction,
you should focus on the things which you can do best. Of course, you want to
pay less tax on what have earned and you don't want to pay more tax than you
are legally obliged to. You may also want to know how to turn those incomes
in the zone of marginally taxable into certainly non-taxable. You may also
want to know how to change those expenditures in the zone of marginally
non-deductible into tax deductible. Being a veteran and retired tax officer,
I will help you to do that in a simple and easy and, most of all, in a
lawful way.
To know more about tax reduction, you are welcome to my website at
http://www.rytc.com. There are a lot of updated tax tips and tax
information at your service free of charge. If you want to read more about
tax reduction, please read my another book called “Hong Kong Tax Tips”. In
that book, I shall give broader and deeper insights into the lawful ways to
reduce tax. Besides, there will also be greater details on analysis of tax
cases, source of profits principle, capital versus revenue receipts, capital
versus revenue expenditure, tax audit and investigation, IRD's practices,
tax computations, accounting for tax requirements… etc. I have published
part of the book on the website free of charge. Why don't you come and have
a look.
And besides, being a tax consultant, I would also like to serve you by
giving my best advice on:
I pledge my service to
you will be Quick, Effective, Economical and Professional. I make my pledge
in
the following conditions.
First, I am a retired tax assessor. I do my work mainly for job satisfaction. I
will be more than happy if I can help people solve their tax problems. By doing
this, I mean I can return a favor to my community from which I have benefited
for 47 years (that is my age of retirement from IRD). I believe by charging the
price low I can make my service more affordable to a commoner in the street and so
I can help more common people.
Second, I do my work all by myself, a professional tax consultant. Because I
don't hire any staff, your request will not be done by an unqualified junior
(this may happen in some Tax Consultant firms). If there should be too much
work for me to do at one time, your offer of work will not be accepted because I
will never compromise quality for more work. If I am unable to serve you, I will
tell you within five working days.
I am sure you will find my service value for money.
Being a smart taxpayer, you should want value for the money you paid. To meet
this objective, you may think of how much is the tax saving from my service and
how much is its cost. And if the tax saving is greater than the cost, you will
buy. Not only considering the imminent tax saving, but also I would like you to
think bigger and think longer for my service. Think about the awful penalty you
may avoid. Think about the enduring benefits you may get from year to year.
I understand a smart taxpayer is very money conscious. But before you act on my
advice to reduce tax, I would offer this advice: Keep self-restraint. Don't be
overly aggressive. Always act lawfully. Never put yourself at risk to tax
penalty or criminal prosecution. Seek advice from professionals when you are in
trouble. When you are not in trouble, Read my tax tips to learn more to avoid
trouble.
Indeed, prevention is less costly than cure!
